I support what you're doing 100%. If you don't mind, I'll take a moment to describe exactly why Joel Salatin is such a hero. A close friend of mine inherited a farm just a few miles away from Polyface, and I got to see the miracle with my own eyes.

That area of Virginia is shielded by a range of mountains to the west, which means that it's exceedingly dry (rarely rains), and the winds blow too strongly for trees to take up a dominant role. This means that what you mostly get is scrubby grasslands, usually overgrazed by cattle.

But since you were at Polyface, you saw how LUSH it was. And it has nothing to do with irrigation or a secret source of water. He has literally transformed the environment there using the techniques he teaches. In effect, he turned a grassy desert into a paradise, and all you've got to do is drive a couple of miles in any direction to see how startling the contrast is.

Frankly, his teachings on pig pasturing alone are genius and should be taught everywhere. The man is a treasure.

Yep, his manure management, his systemic temporary grazing on different areas facilitated by his portable fencing, and his chicken tractors are brilliant as well!

Graham-

I want to go to Truth Talks in Inez but only have a ticket for RRP. Site says you need a separate ticket for TT, but when I click it just takes me to Child/adult RRP tickets. I've been gardening since 2, some canning, lard rendering, seed saving, garden design, animals and herbalism mixed in. Have studied permaculture, water control, etc. Retired LEO with TBIs and PTSD, everything about these Inez talks appeals.to me BUT... how do I go about getting a ticket? I have messaged RRP with no reply. Thanks in advance brother.

So...it now TELLS me about the Truth Talks from Spruce Pine and says Sold.Out. I can see the pitmaster pasture beef and beans details but doesn't say anything about Inez.

I saw it's been rescheduled to Oct. Im disappointed but understand the necessity of gathering as much support for he town and speakers as possible. It will be prettier, and Jenny Wiley State Park reopens in Sept 2025, so more availability for people who come and stay a few days! Thank you for your help, hope to see you in Oct!🇺🇲💪 Im still going next weekend 😊
